At UCSUR, we want to connect and collaborate with anyone excited about community-engaged research to make positive change in Pittsburgh and Southwestern Pennsylvania.
To that end, we are pleased to launch the UCSUR Affiliate Program —a broad coalition of Pitt faculty, staff, post-docs and students, community leaders, and members of the Pittsburgh and Southwestern Pennsylvania communities who are working to advance high-impact community-engaged research across the University and the region.
Everyone is welcome to apply! Applications are due at 5 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 30.
Benefits of being an UCSUR affiliate:
- Access to invitation-only biannual symposia with regional leaders to strategically improve SWPA’s infrastructure for community-engaged research and research-based positive change;
- Access to closed quarterly Community Impact Network events, “case studies in action” where affiliates connect, improve practices, and strengthen skills alongside Community Impact Network teams undertaking two-year research-to-action projects;
- Early awareness of future opportunities for research-to-action funding through the Community Impact Network
- Invitation to an annual affiliate reception to showcase and celebrate our collective research, impact, and experiences
- Connection with others committed to this work across the University and the region; and
- Public recognition for your community-engaged research and impact via UCSUR’s connection to Pitt’s Public Impact strategy.
You should apply for the UCSUR Affiliate Program if you…
- Are any of the following:
- Researcher; faculty member; staff member; undergraduate, graduate, or professional student; post-doc; or administrator at Pitt or another institution in the region
- Pittsburgh or Southwestern Pennsylvania community member
- Community organization leader or participant
- Local government, business or industry stakeholder
- Community practitioner
- Funder or grantmaker
- Are excited about community-engaged research;
- Want to help shape and strengthen SWPA’s capacity to put partnered research into action for positive regional change; and
- Seek collaboration with stakeholders from across the groups listed above.
